Launch
Launched on 19 January 1983 at USD 9,995. The Lisa 2 (January 1984) replaced the Twiggy drives with a 400 KB Sony floppy and was renamed Macintosh XL in 1985. Discontinued on 1 August 1986.
Marketing
It brought the graphical interface with windows, icons, a trash can and a mouse to market, with cooperative multitasking and seven built-in office applications (LisaWrite, LisaCalc and more).
Flaws and fixes
The USD 9,995 price put it out of reach, the Twiggy drives proved unreliable and the system was slow. It sold poorly and its ideas moved to the much cheaper Macintosh (1984).
