Download press dossier (PDF, English)An independent project born from the iMuseo collection connects devices, documentation and history in seven languages.
November 7, 2026. dimensionapple.com has passed 1,000 individually browsable Apple product entries. The milestone recognizes the work of organizing and sharing part of our technological memory: not only a device's specifications, but when it appeared, how it was introduced and its place in the evolution of its family.
It all starts with iMuseo, the private collection of devices and original packaging that gave rise to the project. Its section has been revised and expanded with more content and original photographs. That contact with the objects is the starting point for an initiative that aims to bring Apple's history closer both to people who lived through it and to those discovering it for the first time.
The archive brings together hardware entries, chronological routes and content about products, people, advertising and the history of the brand. It is available in Spanish, English, French, German, Russian, Chinese and Arabic. Translations of the same entry are not counted as different products, and the size of the digital catalogue is not confused with the physical items in the collection.
The next stage focuses on adding depth to what is already documented: reviewing sources, improving photographs and connecting each device to its context. The Software section is being developed with a separate count and distinguishes factory-installed systems from official upgrades. The aim is for the links between devices, software and stories to help explain each era without inflating the figures.
dimensionapple.com is an independent project devoted to Apple products and history. It is not an official site and is not affiliated with Apple Inc. The archive combines public documentation, identified references and material from the iMuseo collection; third-party photographs retain their credits and conditions of use.

PRESS DOSSIER · 7 NOVEMBER 2026
dimensionapple.com is an independent digital archive of Apple products and history. It grew out of iMuseo, a private collection that turns an interest in preserving devices and packaging into a way of sharing knowledge.
The project brings technical information and historical context together. Readers can move from a device to its family, from a presentation to its sources, and from an object in the collection to the period when it was used. Its value lies in documenting those connections, not in multiplying pages through translation.
The project's origins, the archive's scope, figures and counting rules, source methodology, original and third-party photographs, editorial direction and press contacts. The press release is provided separately to make it easier to consult and use for reporting.

01 · ORIGINS AND IDENTITY
Before the digital catalogue came the objects: devices, accessories and packaging preserved in a private collection.
The collection now presented as iMuseo is where dimensionapple began. The idea is to organise the objects and explain what they represent in a form any visitor can consult. A device is more than its specifications: its design, connections, box and place within a family also help explain a period in technology.
The dimensionapple team runs an independent project documenting Apple products and history. It is not an official company website and does not speak on Apple's behalf. Its public identity is dimensionapple.com; the collection and its original photographs are identified as iMuseo. This dossier does not present the project as a public institution, a shop or a museum offering in-person visits.
iMuseo shows objects from the collection and their images. The digital archive has a different scope: it includes entries about products that need not be part of that collection. The number of website entries therefore does not measure how many devices iMuseo owns. No physical collection total is published here because a complete inventory has not been verified for this dossier.
Devices help us recognise habits, ways of working and design decisions from different periods. The editorial purpose is to make that history accessible, with sources and without requiring prior technical knowledge. Photographs of the objects and their packaging add a material perspective that complements written documentation.

02 · THE HISTORICAL ARCHIVE
An entry point into a product and its context, rather than merely a list of specifications.
Entries bring together a device's identification, specifications and context. Depending on the available documentation, they include history, presentation, marketing, documented problems and references. The timeline and family-based routes help place each entry and compare changes between generations. Not every entry has the same depth: editorial review and improvement remain ongoing work.
The website includes content about people, advertising campaigns and the brand's development, as well as curiosities and news. These sections help extend a specific enquiry: who contributed to a product, how it was announced or which decisions preceded its launch. A related link should lead to the exact model or content, not another with a similar name.
The Software section adds one entry per major version, with documented revisions within it. Relations distinguish factory-installed systems from official updates and include Apple sources. A device supporting a version does not mean it has all of that version's features. Software entries are not included in the hardware count.
The archive is offered in Spanish, English, French, German, Russian, Chinese and Arabic. These are language versions of the same content, not seven different catalogues. Translation improvements remain an ongoing task: multilingual availability is not presented as certification that every text has received specialist human review.
The archive is intended for curious readers, enthusiasts, collectors and people who need to identify a model or follow its development. For research or journalism, it provides an entry point into the cited sources. Current terms, services and compatibility must be checked against the manufacturer's current documentation.
03 · FIGURES AND COUNTING RULES
Count checked on 7 November 2026. Each browsable identifier is counted once; translations do not multiply the total.
| Catalogue category | Entries |
|---|---|
| Mac | 523 |
| iPhone | 168 |
| iPad | 102 |
| iPod | 40 |
| Apple Watch | 20 |
| Audio | 32 |
| Home | 20 |
| Vision | 2 |
| Accessories | 31 |
| Other products and peripherals | 151 |
| Total hardware | 1,089 |
A browsable entry with its own ID. A revision, configuration or variant published with its own entry is counted separately. Options described only within an entry do not add entries. Thus 1,089 does not mean 1,089 families or 1,089 different core designs. The previously published variant structure is retained.
Static entries and those served through the API are combined, duplicate IDs are removed and withdrawals are applied. Hidden entries, entries in the Future category and withdrawn grouping entries are not counted. Nor are the seven translations, software, news, people or physical objects in iMuseo.
The press release uses the milestone of more than 1,000 entries without giving an exact total. This dossier provides the precise figure and its verification date. At this stage, hardware is fixed at 1,089 entries; work focuses on improving content and relations without increasing that count. The table uses catalogue categories, not a new classification of Apple's sales.
04 · SOURCES AND METHODOLOGY
The editorial rule is to be able to trace a statement to the documentation supporting it and explain its limits.
For specifications, identification and dates, priority is given to contemporary Apple support pages, technical documents and announcements. A current page may describe a later configuration: that information should not automatically be applied to the original launch. Archives and historical sources help recover context when documentation has changed.
Accounts by participants, interviews, books and historical archives are treated according to their nature. A personal memory is attributed to the person recounting it, rather than turned into a collective certainty. If a secondary source points to an original, that original must be available to consult to support the specific fact. A passage without sufficient verification is not filled in with a guess.
Presentation, announced availability, shipping and actual sales are different events. So are factory-installed software and a later update. Family-level compatibility does not justify inventing a minor revision or assigning every feature to every device. Limitations are explained beside the information they qualify.
The website includes a sources and references page and links associated with content. This does not mean every entry already has the same level of detail or that every field has been exhaustively checked. Review is progressive. Corrections accompanied by an identifiable source help improve the archive and prevent old information from being repeated without checking.
The project is not presented as the world's largest Apple archive, and audience, user, visit or impact figures are not claimed without verified measurement. The catalogue's size does not establish agreements with Apple, media, museums or suppliers. An enquiry or proposal sent is not an accepted collaboration.

05 · PHOTOGRAPHS AND VISUAL MATERIAL
An image should help identify the device, not replace it with a similar one.

iMuseo contributes original photographs of devices and packaging. The collection credit distinguishes them from third-party material. Images are reviewed to keep personal identifiers, such as serial numbers or IMEIs, from being exposed. This front-view photograph illustrates the link between the preserved object and the digital catalogue.
The rest of the archive may use third-party photographs with their individual credits and conditions. An Apple or third-party photograph does not become freely reusable merely by appearing on the website. When a valid photograph of a model is unavailable, an illustration or recreation must be identified as such; it is not presented as a historical screenshot or an original photograph.
To request a photograph, a larger version or clarification of the credit and permission for a particular image, write to prensa@dimensionapple.com with the model and intended use. An image appearing in this dossier does not grant a general licence for all website material.
06 · EDITORIAL DIRECTION AND CONTACT
The next stage aims to help each enquiry lead to a better understanding of a product and its relations with the rest of the archive.
With the hardware count fixed at this stage, the priority is to review and enrich existing entries: more documented context, better photographs and more precise links. Software develops separately, connecting versions and devices without combining them into a common figure. Frequently asked questions and curiosities help explain the archive and its stories, always using checked information.
The aim is to share technological memory accessibly and improve browsing. No new physical location, visiting programme, funding, editorial agreements or unconfirmed release timetable is announced here. A line of work is an editorial intention, not a guarantee of a feature or a date.
The press release can provide a basis for reporting on the project. When citing catalogue data, retain its date and counting rules, identify dimensionapple.com and link to the reference page. Third-party texts, photographs and resources retain their own conditions; no universal licence is offered and no rights belonging to their authors are transferred.
For further enquiries, more information about the project, fact checking or material requests, write to prensa@dimensionapple.com. If an enquiry concerns an entry or photograph, include the link or exact model so that it can be identified without confusion.
