Introduction and announcement; not a sales date.
Apple source ↗On April 12, 2005 Apple announced Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger for retail on April 29 at 6 p.m.; the April 28 notice repeated that plan. The date remains announced availability, without turning store events into one worldwide instant. US prices were $129 for one user and $199 for a five-user Family Pack at one residence.

Spotlight searched document content and metadata and was integrated into Finder, Mail and other applications. Dashboard introduced widgets using web technologies such as HTML and JavaScript. Automator chained actions for repetitive tasks without complex programming. Safari gained an RSS reader and QuickTime 7 added H.264.
The original announcement required a PowerPC G3, G4 or G5, built-in FireWire and 256 MB RAM. That describes the 2005 edition, not Tiger's entire life: on January 10, 2006 Apple introduced an Intel iMac with native 10.4.4. Rosetta was described as translation for most PowerPC applications, not all. No assumption is made that a PowerPC retail disc served every Intel Mac.

The table includes client update 10.4.1 on May 16, 2005 and 10.4.11 on November 14, 2007, from Apple's security record. That record separately gives May 19 for Server 10.4.1; it is not assigned to the client. Here 10.4.4 is documented through the Intel iMac announced and shipping on January 10, 2006, not as a universal date for all distributions. These are selected milestones, without builds.
