visionOS 2

Apple previewed visionOS 2 on June 10, 2024, and released the free Vision Pro update on September 16. Photos could transform two-dimensional library images into spatial photos using machine learning. This is a computed conversion, not evidence that the original image was captured with two cameras.

New gestures reached Home View, time, battery, volume and Control Center. Mouse support and Magic Keyboard detection inside immersive Environments arrived. Travel Mode expanded to trains; Guest User could save the latest guest's eye and hand data for 30 days, not an unlimited system of permanent accounts.

The ultra-wide Mac display was still planned for later in September's announcement. Notes place it in 2.2, dated December 11 by the archive. Apple's guide requires an Apple-silicon Mac, macOS Sequoia 15.2 or later and visionOS 2.2 or later for wide and ultra-wide formats; installing 2.0 alone was not enough.

The 2.4 notes add Apple Intelligence, Spatial Gallery and Guest User improvements; 2.5 adds the TV app's Vision tab. These are later stages with regional availability conditions, not September launch features. The table retains sourced milestones through 2.6 without build numbers.
