Design and specifications
This standard configuration has a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 (2-core), 8 GB of 2133 MHz DDR4 and 1 TB HDD · 5400 rpm. Graphics are Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640. Apple lists a 16 GB memory maximum, not standard installed RAM. The storage described is standard for this configuration, not an order option.
Use and context
Includes FaceTime HD, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, Gigabit Ethernet, stereo speakers and a microphone. It has four USB-A ports, two Thunderbolt 3 ports with USB-C connectors, SDXC and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Thunderbolt 3 provides DisplayPort output; HDMI, DVI and VGA need separately sold adapters.
Notes and image
The built-in display offers 1920 × 1080 · millions of colors. The box includes Magic Keyboard and a Magic mouse; the numeric keyboard and trackpad are options. The announcement placed macOS High Sierra in the fall, not as a system already available in June. Later Mojave or Big Sur references on support pages are not treated as launch facts.
