Apple announced the 21.5-inch Late 2009 iMac on October 20, 2009 and reported Core 2 Duo models already shipping. Both base configurations shared a 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 1066 MHz DDR3. Announcement and configurations
Apple announced the 21.5-inch Late 2009 iMac on October 20, 2009 and reported Core 2 Duo models already shipping. Both base configurations shared a 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 1066 MHz DDR3. The $1199 US model had a 500 GB hard drive and GeForce 9400M; the $1499 model had a 1 TB drive and 256 MB Radeon HD 4670. These are two configurations of this revision, not two generations.
Display and connections
The LED-backlit IPS display used 16:9 and 1920 × 1080 pixels. It included an 8x SuperDrive, four USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 800, SD, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and iSight camera. Mini DisplayPort was video output: the 27-inch model's DisplayPort input is not attributed to this model. It shipped with a wireless keyboard, Magic Mouse, Snow Leopard and iLife.
Availability and recreation
Support lists a 3.33 GHz Core 2 Duo option and memory expansion to 16 GB. GeForce 9400M shares main memory; this is not equivalent to the dedicated Radeon's 256 MB GDDR3. The image is an illustrated recreation of the 21.5-inch exterior, not a photograph or proof of CPU or internal configuration. A suitable real photograph will replace it when found.
