History and documentation
Apple announced the iPhone 12 mini family in 2020 with iOS 14 and 64 / 128 / 256 GB capacities. This entry separates code A2398; finishes and capacities are not treated as new revisions without evidence. Announced availability does not prove actual sales of each regional version.
Design and specifications
It uses A14 Bionic and a 5.4-inch OLED HDR P3 screen, 2340 × 1080 pixels and 476 ppi, with True Tone and Haptic Touch. It measures 131.5 × 64.2 × 7.4 mm and weighs 133 g. Face ID uses TrueDepth, without a Home button. IP68 is a laboratory rating, not permanent resistance.
Use and context
The rear combines two 12 MP cameras: f/1.6 wide and f/2.4 ultra wide. Only the wide camera has optical stabilization; there is no telephoto. The front camera has 12 MP and f/2.2. Rear video: 4K at 24/30/60 fps and 1080p at 30/60 fps. Wireless charging supports MagSafe and Qi.
Notes and image
The Japanese table lists sub-6 GHz 5G, LTE, UMTS and GSM, without a CDMA row; it does not list mmWave. Exact bands appear in the specifications, without promising current service. The documented configuration uses nano-SIM and eSIM, subject to carrier support. It includes 802.11ax Wi-Fi with MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0 and Lightning. Bands do not guarantee current service.
