LaserWriter Pro 600 (1993)
A PostScript Level 2 laser printer documented by Apple in 1993: a 25 MHz Motorola 68030, up to 600 dpi and 8 MB RAM expandable to 32 MB.

Illustrative recreation, not a photograph or evidence of a surviving unit. Broad exterior form is informed by the original model manual illustration; colors and schematic marks do not establish finishes, controls or internal configuration. A permitted photograph of the correct model will replace it when available. The manual confirms shared Pro 600/630 exterior apart from I/O boards; the drawing does not establish a unit’s installed board.

Documentary context
Apple Support and TIL 11051 place the LaserWriter Pro 600 in January 1993. Service Source covers it with the Pro 630 but distinguishes their interfaces. The 630’s Ethernet and SCSI ports are not assigned to the Pro 600.
Architecture and connections
The manual specifies a 25 MHz Motorola 68030, 2 MB ROM and 8 MB RAM expandable to 32 MB. It adds a shipping detail: some early-1993 units shipped with 4 MB and a free kit dealers were instructed to install; Apple said none should have been sold with less than 8 MB. Initial shipment is not confused with authorized retail configuration.
Performance and limits
The Canon LBP-B 270 engine produces 8 Letter or A 4 pages per minute. The Pro 600 requires 8 MB for 600 dpi or PhotoGrade. LocalTalk, RS-232 and Centronics are documented interfaces; a 32 MB maximum does not establish a unit’s installed memory.
