Mac mini (Late 2012) (2012)
Apple introduced the Late 2012 Mac mini within the October 23, 2012 iMac announcement and stated availability that day through its channels, not an audit of sales. The US $599 desktop had a 2.5 GHz dual-core i5, 4 GB and 500 GB; the $799 model had a 2.3 GHz quad-core i7, 4 GB and 1 TB. The $999 Server with two 1 TB disks and OS X Server is separate, not standard equipment for every i7.

History and documentation
Apple introduced the Late 2012 Mac mini within the October 23, 2012 iMac announcement and stated availability that day through its channels, not an audit of sales. The US $599 desktop had a 2.5 GHz dual-core i5, 4 GB and 500 GB; the $799 model had a 2.3 GHz quad-core i7, 4 GB and 1 TB. The $999 Server with two 1 TB disks and OS X Server is separate, not standard equipment for every i7.
Memory and display
The i5 reaches 3.1 GHz Turbo Boost with 3 MB L3; the 2.3 GHz i7 reaches 3.3 GHz with 6 MB L3. The optional 2.6 GHz quad-core i7 reaches 3.6 GHz. Two standard 2 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 modules can be configured up to 16 GB per Apple. Intel HD Graphics 4000 is shared across models. The enclosure retains 19.7 × 19.7 × 3.6 cm dimensions and listed 1.22 kg weight, varying by configuration.
Storage and connections
Original 500 GB and 1 TB disks run at 5400 rpm; the page offers 256 GB SSD and 1 TB Fusion Drive options, not standard storage on every model. Connections now include four up-to-5 Gbps USB 3 ports alongside 10 Gbps Thunderbolt, FireWire 800, HDMI, SDXC, Gigabit Ethernet, IR receiver and audio. Wi-Fi is 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0. Late 2014 Thunderbolt 2 and ac Wi-Fi are not added here.
Software, dimensions and photograph
It shipped with Mountain Lion and iLife, without an internal optical drive. The page lists an HDMI-to-DVI adapter in the box but calls it sold separately under DVI output; the discrepancy is retained, not an accessory promise to a present buyer. It also summarizes dual 2560 × 1600 displays but limits HDMI to 1080p60: that does not make HDMI 2560 × 1600. The 85 W figure is maximum continuous power.
