The Mid 2007 Mac mini uses Core 2 Duo, distinct from the 2006 Core Duo. Apple’s technical page separates two bases: 1.83 GHz with 2 MB L2 cache, an 80 GB drive and Combo; and 2 GHz with 4 MB L2, 120 GB and double-layer SuperDrive. Both include 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2, officially expandable to 2 GB. Peter Cohen documented US prices of $599 and $799 in Macworld; the article explicitly corrects an initially wrong upper price of $699.

Launch and configurations
The Mid 2007 Mac mini uses Core 2 Duo, distinct from the 2006 Core Duo. Apple’s technical page separates two bases: 1.83 GHz with 2 MB L2 cache, an 80 GB drive and Combo; and 2 GHz with 4 MB L2, 120 GB and double-layer SuperDrive. Both include 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2, officially expandable to 2 GB. Peter Cohen documented US prices of $599 and $799 in Macworld; the article explicitly corrects an initially wrong upper price of $699.
Changes from the previous model
Against Late 2006, the entry base moves from 1.66 GHz Core Duo to 1.83 GHz Core 2 Duo; the upper base moves from 1.83 GHz Core Duo to 2 GHz Core 2 Duo. Factory RAM doubles from 512 MB to 1 GB, but the official limit remains 2 GB. Base drives rise from 60/80 to 80/120 GB. GMA 950, four USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 400, DVI, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR remain. The five USB ports, FireWire 800 and GeForce of 2009 do not belong here.
Features and photograph
It includes Tiger, iLife 08, Front Row and Apple Remote. GMA 950 shares RAM: the table lists 64 MB, not dedicated memory; the VGA adapter is included and composite/S-Video adapter is sold separately. A 160 GB drive was optional. The period follows Apple’s Mid 2007 designation; no individual delivery day is asserted here. Chris Lawrence’s original March 2, 2006 photo represents the Intel design, not this revision or its processor. It is kept intact, showing the Mac on top of the TiVo recorder.
