History and documentation
The Mid 2010 Mac mini Server is separate from the desktop Mac mini with SuperDrive. Apple's June 15, 2010 release introduced it with Snow Leopard Server and a US suggested price of $999: 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo, 4 GB and two 500 GB disks. Apple said the new Mac mini began shipping that day. Announced price is not current price, nor an announcement proof of a particular unit's sale.
Memory and display
This Server revision moves to the 19.7 × 19.7 × 3.6 cm aluminum unibody enclosure with integrated power supply and lower panel for memory access. Listed weight is 1.29 kg by configuration, not the optical-drive desktop's 1.37 kg. The page specifies 3 MB shared L2, 1066 MHz frontside bus and two 2 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SO-DIMMs, with an Apple maximum of 8 GB. GeForce 320M takes at least 256 MB from system memory, not dedicated VRAM.
Storage and connections
The two 500 GB SATA disks run at 7200 rpm, versus the 5400 rpm documented for the Late 2009 Server. This Server does not include the 2010 desktop's internal SuperDrive; The box lists computer, HDMI-to-DVI adapter, power cord, install/restore DVDs and documentation. Mac OS X Server 10.6 Snow Leopard includes an unlimited-client license: the original package, not a guaranteed newly transferable license today.
Software, dimensions and photograph
Mini DisplayPort reaches 2560 × 1600 and HDMI 1920 × 1200, with extended desktop or mirroring. Four USB 2.0, FireWire 800, SD, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and analog/digital and HDMI audio. 2011 Thunderbolt is not added. The page gives 85 W maximum continuous power and 100–240 V.
