Design and specifications
Initial RAM: 2 GB DDR2 · 667 MHz; storage: 200 / 250 GB Serial ATA · 5400 rpm; optical drive: 8x SuperDrive · DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW; announced US price: 1999 / 2499 USD. Apple documents a maximum of 4 GB DDR2; this is not initial memory.
Use and context
It includes iSight, AirPort Extreme, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet and ExpressCard/34. Connections: 2 USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 400/800, DVI with Dual Link for the 30-inch Cinema HD Display and analog and optical digital audio input/output. A backlit keyboard and scrolling TrackPad are included. The TrackPad now supports Multi-Touch pinch, rotate and swipe gestures; Apple Remote is an option, not assumed included.
Notes and image
The 85 W MagSafe adapter uses a magnetic connection and Sudden Motion Sensor is designed to help protect the disk in a fall, not guarantee against damage. It includes Mac OS X Leopard and iLife 08. Apple states shipping starts that day, not that every order was delivered. The image is an original labelled schematic, not a photograph or scale drawing.
