Macintosh Performa 560 (1994)
The Macintosh Performa 560 is separate from the 550. Service Source says the 550 and 560 ship with different software bundles; they are not therefore merged into one entry. The Apple summary includes January 1, 1994, attributed without claiming a shipment day. Manual Processor and the summary give a 33 MHz Motorola 68030 with integrated MMU; Identifying Features prints 68LC030. This documentary difference is retained without inventing a processor change.

History and documentation
The Macintosh Performa 560 is separate from the 550. Service Source says the 550 and 560 ship with different software bundles; they are not therefore merged into one entry. The Apple summary includes January 1, 1994, attributed without claiming a shipment day. Manual Processor and the summary give a 33 MHz Motorola 68030 with integrated MMU; Identifying Features prints 68LC030. This documentary difference is retained without inventing a processor change.
Memory and display
The board carries 4 MB dynamic RAM, expandable to 36 MB through an 80 ns or faster 72-pin SIMM. The manual gives 1 MB ROM and 512 K VRAM, expandable to 768 K: from 256 to about 32,000 colours per its table. The built-in Trinitron has a 14-inch diagonal, 13-inch viewable area and 640 × 480 resolution. Tube diagonal is not confused with viewable area, nor is the 575/577/578 video megabyte transferred here.
Storage and connections
The manual documents 80 or 160 MB SCSI disks for 550/560, while the specific summary lists 160 MB. The internal double-speed AppleCD 300i uses a caddy; it is not the later caddyless 300+i. The internal SuperDrive is 1.4 MB per manual, 1.44 MB per support; there are two ADB ports, two mini-DIN-8 serial ports and DB-25 SCSI. Mono sound input, stereo output and headphones, and two speakers are documented. The manual limits the communications slot to 575/577/578.
Software, dimensions and photograph
Apple Support identifies 7.1P5 and System Enabler 332 as original software. The manual gives 120 W maximum power and 100–240 V supply; the summary lists Max Watts 40 and 90–264 V. They are not blended into one number. Weight of 40.5 lb and dimensions of 17.9 × 13.5 × 16.5 inches come from the manual.
