Launch
Apple introduced the wireless Mighty Mouse on July 25, 2006, announcing immediate availability and a US price of $69. This version used Bluetooth 2.0 and laser tracking and should not be confused with the 2005 USB model.
Design and connection
It retained the multidirectional Scroll Ball and up to four programmable buttons. Sensors in the shell provided primary and secondary button functions; pressing the ball and squeezing the sides activated the other controls.
Requirements and photograph
It could run on one or two AA batteries, with an off switch and power management during inactivity. Apple specified Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.6 or later for button customization.
