Marketing
The key change was Applesoft BASIC in ROM (licensed from Microsoft), with floating point, and the autostart ROM that booted from disk. It enabled the early-80s wave of educational and game software.
Flaws and fixes
Nearly identical hardware to the Apple II: same 40-column uppercase display and unchanged graphics. The Europlus and J-Plus variants adapted video and keyboard for Europe and Japan.
