What it adds and what to know
Introduced on October 21, 1993 and discontinued on July 15, 1996, according to Apple's technical specifications. It packs a 68LC040 at 25 MHz without FPU (Apple's spec page says 50 while Apple's Developer Note for this model (1993) documents the processor at 25 MHz: the 68LC040 uses two clocks, with the internal core at twice the bus rate, as Apple's PowerBook 500 series Developer Note explains, so both figures describe the same chip), with one LC III PDS slot, 4 MB expandable to 36 MB in one 72-pin SIMM, DB-15 video, DB-25 SCSI and a PlainTalk microphone. It supports System 7.1 through Mac OS 8.0. Apple Support
