On September 8, 2003 Apple announced the 15-inch revision with a 1 GHz PowerPC G4, 256 MB 333 MHz DDR, an 80 GB 7200 rpm Ultra ATA/100 drive, 32x Combo and 32 MB GeForce4 MX. It retained the $1299 US price and announced immediate availability. It had two FireWire 400 and three USB 2.0 ports on the computer; technical support separately lists two USB 1.1 ports on the keyboard. AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth were internal options, not included cards. The September release lists Jaguar and iLife at launch; the later USB 2.0 family technical page lists Panther, which is not treated as the original September system.

September 2003
Limits and availability
It evolves from the February 2003 revision: 800 MHz becomes 1 GHz, 60 GB becomes 80 GB and GeForce2 MX becomes GeForce4 MX; it adds 333 MHz DDR memory and USB 2.0 while keeping the announced $1299 price. The Combo reads DVDs and writes CDs, but does not write DVDs. Listed memory is the factory base, not the maximum. Availability is Apple’s statement in the announcement, not proof of each unit’s delivery. The original 2002 page remains separate.
Illustration
The image is a schematic recreation, not a photograph of this revision. It represents the 15-inch G4 design with a neutral 4:3 screen, using the later USB 2.0 page as its dimensional reference (38.4 cm outer display width, 27 cm base, 50.9 cm total height). It does not establish exact dimensions of a September unit or a precise arm position; arm and details are simplified.
