Launch and configurations

Evolution and changes
It evolves from August 2004: base memory rises from 256 to 512 MB, GeForce FX 5200 Ultra 64 MB gives way to Radeon 9600 128 MB, and AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR become standard. Ethernet rises from 10/100 to Gigabit. The 17-inch prices stay at $1299/$1499 with higher CPU and storage; the 20-inch base falls from $1899 to $1799. SuperDrive is now 8x with double-layer support, but the entry Combo cannot write DVDs.
Features and limits
Resolution remains 1440 × 900 for 17-inch and 1680 × 1050 for 20-inch. Memory supports 2 GB; 400 GB storage was optional. Two FireWire 400, three computer USB 2.0, two keyboard USB 1.1 and a V.92 modem are included, along with Tiger and iLife 05. Archeos identifies the rear photo as a spring 2005 20-inch 2 GHz unit, not every configuration. This is not the later iSight revision.
