Configuration and announcement
Apple announced this Mac mini configuration on October 20, 2009. The $799 base combines Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.53 GHz, 3 MB shared L2 cache and a 320 GB SATA hard drive at 5400 rpm. It remains separate from the other simultaneous base and factory options; this is a historical US price, not a current Spanish offer.
Memory and optical drive
It includes 4 GB DDR3 at 1066 MHz and a 1066 MHz bus, with an official 4 GB maximum. NVIDIA GeForce 9400M uses 256 MB shared with main memory, not dedicated VRAM. All these bases have an 8x SuperDrive with double-layer DVD support: the earlier base's Combo is not carried into 2009.
Connections and peripherals
It offers five USB 2.0 ports, one FireWire 800 port, Gigabit Ethernet, AirPort Extreme 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. Mini-DVI and Mini DisplayPort support two displays; the technical box list includes the Mini-DVI to DVI adapter, while VGA and dual-link DVI require optional adapters. Audio input and output combine analog and optical signals.
Software and availability
It includes Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and iLife 09. Apple Remote, display, keyboard and mouse are options, not box contents. Apple stated shipping from the announcement, which does not prove an individual delivery. 2.66 GHz and a 500 GB drive were options.
