Launch
It arrived in January 1983 and was discontinued in December 1984. It worked with the Lisa and Apple III, and with the Apple IIe or II Plus through the Super Serial card.
Marketing
Its 130-character print wheels (Courier, Prestige Elite, Gothic, Executive and more, in several languages) were unique to Apple's version. It used continuous-form paper or cut sheets with an optional feeder, and with a Lisa it could print simple graphics by microstepping the print head.
Flaws and fixes
It was slow (40 cps) and heavy (16.8 kg), and its price does not appear in the sources consulted. Apple never offered official support for the brand-new Macintosh; only third-party drivers existed.
