Launch and context
Announced on October 22, 2013 as iPad mini with Retina display, it went on sale on November 12. Apple adopted the iPad mini 2 name in 2014. The 7.9-inch display moved to 2048 × 1536 pixels at 326 ppi, with a 64-bit A7 and M7. It launched with iOS 7: the cumulative specification's iOS 9 was not its original system. How Apple presented it
Apple emphasized as many pixels as the 9.7-inch iPad, now in a portable format. It came in silver and space gray, with 16, 32, 64 or 128 GB, as Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular. Documented issues
There was no Touch ID: its Home button was not the mini 3 reader. Weight was 331 g Wi-Fi or 341 g Cellular.
