Announcement and availability
Apple introduced it on June 3, 2019 at WWDC in San Jose, alongside the Mac Pro. Apple confirmed orders for fall 2019. Apple Newsroom, 03-06-2019
What changes and who it is for
It is Apple's first own display after years without one, and the first Retina 6K: 32 inches, 6016×3384 with over 20 million pixels, 10-bit P3 color, 1,000 nits of sustained full-screen brightness and 1,600-nit peaks with 1,000,000:1 contrast, aimed at HDR workflows. A nano-texture glass option etches the glass at nanometer level to cut reflections. Apple Newsroom
Before choosing
The price does not include a stand: the Pro Stand cost US$999 and the VESA adapter US$199, widely discussed at launch. It has no camera, microphones or speakers. Its extreme brightness and contrast target pro video, photo and color work; it is excessive for general use. Apple · Specifications
