What changes and who it is for
It is the third generation of Apple TV 4K. Compared with the 2021 model it adds the A15 Bionic chip (Apple claims up to 50% faster CPU and 30% faster GPU), HDR10+ support in addition to Dolby Vision, a more compact fanless design and a Siri Remote with USB-C charging. The US starting price dropped from $179 to $129. It shipped in two configurations: Wi-Fi (64GB) and Wi-Fi + Ethernet (128GB). Apple Newsroom
Before choosing
The base Wi-Fi configuration ($129) has no Ethernet port and no Thread radio: both are exclusive to the Wi-Fi + Ethernet configuration (128GB). HDR10+ requires a compatible TV. The HDMI cable is sold separately. Performance improvement figures are Apple's claims versus the previous generation. Apple · Specifications
