Announcement and availability
Apple introduced it on January 17, 2023 via press release. It was available to order the same day and availability began January 24, 2023. Apple Newsroom, 17-01-2023
What changes and who it is for
It is the Mac mini update to the M2 chip, with two substantive changes: the starting price drops to US$599 (US$100 below the M1 model) and the arrival of M2 Pro, which for the first time gives Mac mini a pro-level chip, with up to three displays and four Thunderbolt 4 ports. Apple Newsroom
Before choosing
The base configuration of 8GB memory and 256GB SSD is tight for demanding work and cannot be upgraded later. The extra ports (4× Thunderbolt 4) and three-display output belong only to M2 Pro. No display, keyboard or mouse included. Apple · Specifications
