Announcement and availability

What changes and who it is for
It is the return to a modular Mac Pro after the 2013 cylinder: a stainless-steel space frame with a lift-off aluminum housing and 360-degree access, Intel Xeon W processors up to 28 cores, up to 1.5TB of memory in 12 DIMM slots (the most ever in a Mac at the time), eight PCIe slots and the Afterburner accelerator card, which Apple says can play back three streams of 8K ProRes RAW video simultaneously. Before choosing
It is the last Intel Mac Pro: the move to Apple silicon came in 2023. The base configuration was modest for its price (256GB SSD, Radeon Pro 580X) and options raised the total sharply. The Afterburner card only accelerates ProRes/ProRes RAW workflows. No display, keyboard or mouse included. Apple · Specifications
