Announcement and availability

What changes and who it is for
It is the third generation of Mac Studio. It pairs M4 Max with the new M3 Ultra, which Apple presents as the most powerful chip in a personal computer: up to 512GB of unified memory, enough to load large language models with over 600 billion parameters entirely in memory, per Apple. It brings Thunderbolt 5 (up to 120Gb/s) to Mac Studio and keeps the $1,999 starting price. Apple Newsroom
Before choosing
The 512GB memory and maximum GPU configuration belong only to M3 Ultra, not the entry M4 Max. Thunderbolt 5 requires compatible cables and accessories to reach 120Gb/s. The AI figures (600-billion-parameter models) describe memory capacity, not a specific inference speed. No display, keyboard or mouse included. Apple · Specifications
