What it adds and what to know

Announced September 9, 2025; pre-orders September 12 and stores September 19. iPhone Air prioritizes thinness: 5.64mm and 165g, with titanium, A19 Pro and a 6.5-inch ProMotion display up to 120Hz. N1 handles wireless networking and C1X cellular. It has one 48MP Fusion rear camera and an 18MP Center Stage front camera; optical-quality 2x is not a second rear lens. It uses eSIM and does not support physical SIM cards. Storage is 256GB, 512GB or 1TB. Apple claims up to 27 hours of video without the additional MagSafe battery, sold separately. Documented issue

Apple documents a wired-charging issue affecting a small number of iPhone Air and iPhone 17 users when the battery was nearly drained. The fix is in iOS 26.5.1. This does not mean a universal charging fault and must not be attributed to iPhone 16e. Apple · iOS 26.5.1
